On The Mat

NAME OF BOOK: On The Mat

NAME OF AUTHOR: Archimede Fusillo

TYPE OF STORY: It tend to be a family book because there are no bits when you want to keep reading.

WHEN AND WHERE THE STORY IS SET: It is set in the 21st century somewhere in Greater Melbourne.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE PLOT: Claude is the worst athlete in the school, but a new kid named Mario (aka "Whitetail") thinks that Claude has the potential to become a wrestler. In the interest of curiosity, he accepts an invitation of Mario to come to his house and train after school. After just a few sessions Claude had found his inner passion and skill for wrestling. He finds out that before his dad passed away that he was in the middle of organising a charity bout for his town. Claude then decides to put on a bout between himself and Mario, in memory of his dad's intentions. Unfortunately, that's where the book ends. We don't know who won the bout or what happened during the bout.

WHO WERE THE MAIN CHARACTERS?: Claude (aka The Big Fella), Mario (aka Whitetale), Tom De Silva, Mr. Lucca.

DESCRIBE ONE MAIN CHARACTER IN DETAIL: Mario is a die-hard fan of wrestling and even though Claude wasn't a good athlete, he persuaded him to give wrestling a try.

WHICH CHARACTER DID YOU LIKE BEST AND WHY?: Claude is my favourite character because even though he isn't an athlete, he still gave something that he didn't like a try.

WHAT THE BEST PART OF THE BOOK AND WHY?: The best part of the book was when The Big Fella and Whitetale stepped into the ring.

WHAT WOULD YOU RATE THIS BOOK OUT OF TEN AND WHY?: 3/10. Archie Fusillo has written some great books, but unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

WHO WOULD YOU RECCOMEND IT TO?: Anyone who wants to fall asleep while reading a book will love this book. Enough said.

SOMETHING ELSE OF INTEREST TO YOU: Claude and Mario trained for the bout on four matresses pushed together.
